The only sense in which I am proud to be an aristocrat is quite different: it involves the aspiration to the best in ourselves, the urge to spread our wings, to ascend and free ourselves. There is an aristocracy of the soul, irrespective of denomination, which gives us all our sense of honour, our reason for working, thinking, loving and living.
